There are many benefits of having a massage while pregnant. Massage can help you to feel calmer and more relaxed. What’s more, it can also improve your sleep quality. During pregnancy, your whole body is going through a huge change. It is important to treat your body and yourself with care while waiting for your new family member to arrive

Why is it good to massage doing labour?

When labor begins it is important to raise the hormone level oxytocin, also called the love hormone. Oxytocin helps your contractions to become more smooth and regular. Massage and supportive touch can raise your oxytocin levels which helps you to feel more relaxed and comfortable.

Why should I have a massage after giving birth?

To be honest, pregnancy can be hard on your body. It is a very big change in a relatively short time.  Giving birth can also be an intense experience that affects every part of your body. Giving yourself time off after giving birth is important. Having a small baby who needs you 24/7 can be quite demanding. It is important to give yourself some self-care and love and to recharge your batteries. A massage will help you to find your way back to your body after pregnancy and childbirth. Massage also helps with sore muscles so that you will have more energy to care for and nurse your little one.

What do I offer?

I'm a massage therapist and doula. I will give you a massage that is tailored to you. Together, we will determine what your body needs. I have a special pregnancy pillow for my massage bench, so no matter where you are in your pregnancy there will be enough room for your growing belly. You will be able to lie comfortably on your stomach while you receive your treatment.
